… has been and gone this summer. 79th Reading Scouts hosted a group of American Girl Scouts from Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana and a fantastic time was had by all at this international camp in Windsor Great Park.
Sunday 2nd March saw the annual Reading Half-marathon but before that was a 2.8 km fun run around Green Park and ending in the Madejski Stadium.
Whilst this might not be to everyone’s taste it’s clear that the Scouts who took part thoroughly enjoyed the experience as the strive towards their fitness challenge badge.
On a Recent outing the Chieftain scout Group took part in the Young Drivers Training Scheme on top of the Riverside Car Park at the Reading Oracle shopping center.
As you can see from the photo’s the weather left something to be desired but despite this the scouts all had a great time and also hopefully took their first steps towards becoming safer road users. They all agreed that it was great way to spend a rainy Sunday and has given them an insight into problems car drivers face so hopefully they can be safer on the roads and pavements themselves.
Despite the weather no Scouts, cars or car parks were damaged in the making of this event !
